Audrey Grider

There are so many facets to life, and we choose to view it through a myriad of lenses. For me, the process of creating art is a pathway to inner healing and connection to my soul at a profound level. I am honored to share this sense of peace and serenity with you. These unique, mixed media paintings bring a whimsical and ethereal view of animals and various subjects from around the world. My hope is that this artwork is a catalyst for you to feel a connection to the life-giving forces of Creation.

With attention to composition, and the use of acrylics, texture, and diverse materials, I create paintings that combine sculptural effects with the feeling of radiance that is seen in leaded glass. I am a Southern California artist, inspired by the light, energy, and colors that are a part of the natural coastal beauty that surrounds me.

My journey as an artist began at an early age, when I was encouraged by my parents and teachers to explore my innate desire to create both two- and three-dimensional pieces of artwork. My aunt, a successful artist, taught me how to use the palette knife, and inspired me to follow in her footsteps. During my childhood, I was fortunate to receive formal training at several facilities, including the Usdan Center in New York, in which I participated in summer programs for the visual and performing arts. During my college years, and afterward, I completed a number of art courses that further helped me develop a deeper understanding of color theory, various media, art history, and the importance of art critique.

Throughout my adulthood, my work has been exhibited and sold in a variety of venues.

For several years, I was the co-owner of an art gallery, together with three other artists. It was a fabulous learning experience, and taught me a great deal about being a professional artist and gallerist. I have exhibited and won several awards in a number of Orange County art galleries, shows, and special events, including the Grace Galleries of Laguna Beach, Window Gallery of San Juan Capistrano, Sunset Gallery of San Clemente, Santora Arts Building, Orange County Fair, Art Beat Exhibition, Norman P. Murray Center Art Show, Mission Viejo Chalk Festival, and Dana Point Whale Festival. I am also a lifetime member of the Saddleback Art League.

Over the years I have continued to develop my voice as an artist, and am excited to see where this journey takes me! I am grateful for your appreciation of my artwork.
